Meet and Greet
Session

Starting counselling can feel like a big step, and it's important that you feel comfortable with the person you're working with.

That's why I offer a Meet & Greet service. This gives us an opportunity to get to know each other, ask questions and see whether we feel like a good fit to work together. Choosing the right counsellor is an important part of the therapeutic process, and this session allows both of us to decide if we're the right match.

​

We'll meet at Meeting Point, Deigo's Joint in Sunderland, over a cup of tea or coffee (my treat!). Following our chat, you'll have the opportunity to view the counselling room and become familiar with the environment before your first session.

Please note that this is not a therapy session. As we are meeting in a public venue, confidentiality cannot be fully guaranteed. For this reason, we will keep our conversation informal and avoid discussing sensitive personal information or therapeutic issues in depth.

This service can be particularly helpful for children, young people, neurodivergent individuals, or anyone who feels anxious about starting counselling. However, it is available to all clients who would like the opportunity to ease into the counselling process at their own pace.

There is no pressure or obligation, just a chance to meet, ask questions, and take the first step towards support in a way that feels comfortable for you. Please note there is a small charge.
